2009 Marks the 100th anniversary of the Aimiral Tuiga. As far as I know of, Aimiral Tuiga was built by W. Fife in 1909 as a “15 Metre class” and was restored in 1993. Up tp now, it has an admirable history of 100 years.Now, it is the the emblem of the Yacht Club de Monaco.
To celebrate 100th anniversary and pay tribute to the legendary sailing ship, Watchmaker Hublot not only took part in the celebration activities held beside the Yacht Club but also launched a special watch – Hublot Tuiga Century watch (Also known as Hublot Tuiga 2009)limited to 100 pieces.Faithful to the history and theme, Hublot Tuiga Century watch has 1909 and 2009 engraved on the ending pieces. Besides, it has the Yacht Club flags at 9, the “Tuiga Century” at 6, and the “Yacht Club de Monaco” engraving on the bezel between 10 and 2 o’clock.
Sized at 45mm, Hublot Tuiga Century watch is an absulte “Classic Fusion”: the case is presented on 5N gold including the solid case-back with Hublot seal and crown with Hublot logo, while the bezel is crafted from black ceramic fearuing vertical satin finish and 6 titanium H-shaped countersunk polished & locked screws. Besides, the bezel lugs is made of black composite resin.
Beneath the crystal sapphire with interior anti-reflective treatment, there is a carbon fibre dial with 5N gold hour markers and hands that are fine satin-finished. Each hour marker is filled with luminous materials, while the faceted hands are stylish in skeletonized pattern.
Beating inside is the Hub1100, an automatic movement with 42-hour power reserve and 21 jewels. Water resistant to 100 meters, Hublot Tuiga Century watch is completed by Adjustable lined black rubber strap with 5N gold clasp and black PVD deployant.
