I have very conflicting feelings about this Romain Gauthier watch. While I love the movement very much, I do not like the dial design at all. The movement is really something spectacular and fabulous. It receives adorable finish, and it is very constructed and designed. Well, I can not help but applause for the finish of the movement. As know to superior watch lovers, sharp angles on bridges and baseplates are two most difficult parts in producing handmade movements. And there are basically two kinds of angles: the outward angles and the inward angles. And the inward angle is the hardest to make. So examining the sharp angles is one way to spot if the movement is handmade or not as they can only done by hand at present. The machine that can make these sharp angles has not yet been created by far. And to my knowledge, no brands can make such deep inward angles like Romain Gauthier.By that I includes watch giants like Lange, AP, L.U.C., Vacheron or Patek who actually fall 10,000 miles behind Romain Gauthier in finishing. And such finishes stand out before those of Voutilainen, Philippe Dufour and is not second to those Greubel Forsey.

One of my favorite features  about the case back is that it has the crown. In addition, it features perfect proportion.The case is 41mm at diameter and 11.3 mm thick, making it fit into a wide range of wrists from small, medium to large. The case design is based on the classic concept, but it has not a few modern element as well. It is a breathtaking beauty indeed. I find myself more than astonished before such a beauty. I can keep watching the case back for hours without feeling tired.

However, when I turn over the watch and look at the dial, I feel like falling from a cliff. I can not a stand why an adorable movement is given an awful dial. The off-centered design is OK though I used to be quite against offer-centered dials. But I can not tolerate that there in nothing on south to balance the design, resulting in an ugly face lack of aesthetic sense. I have been trying very hard to convince myself the design is simple, easy-to-read and elegant. But it does not work.. Just like I have failed in convincing myself that Mona Lisa is a charming woman rather than a fatty normal woman with unpleasing smile.
