Not many people know that UK used to enjoysame the status as today’s Switzerland in watch making industry.Gone is the prestigious status though, UK still maintains excellent watch making technology and not a few good watch makers and designers .Well, it is reported that, Industrial North Design is plan to release two exceptional British-style watches-the Britannic watch and the Vanguard-Precision watch . Both watches will be meticulously hand-made in the country, and each will be limited to 15 pieces.
To begin with, let me point out some unique aspects about these two pieces: firstly, the Britannic watch has “Keep calm and carry on” , the well-known slogan of the British Ministry of Information, engraved on the case back, and the Vanguard-Precision watch features the phase “come into the factories” engraving at the rear; secondly, the cases are held together by rare 10 British Association screws that are originated back when UK was an empire; Thirdly, the dials made from sterling silver will sport textile patterns of pure British style.
The construction of the 46mm cases is also very special – huge, thick and solid. They are crafted from high-grade steel. And they are presented on 26mm-wide 100% hand-made calf leather straps. Beating inside are Swiss automatic movements.
As the watches are still under production, the pictures we have now are justs the pre-production prototypes from which we can feel the pure English designs and some unique personalities. Looking forward to the completed looks of the new watches by Industrial North Design .
